The St. Joseph County Road Commission has announced that – after more than a year of restoration efforts – the historic Langley Covered Bridge near Centreville is now open to traffic.
Beginning Monday (September 28th), the historic Langley Covered Bridge north of Centreville will be closed during daytime hours only while crews continue to install guardrail along the bridge approach and when the hot plant mix asphalt is placed on the roadway bridge approach.
The historic Langley Covered Bridge near Centreville will be open to traffic, effective Saturday (September 19th), and will remain open during the St. Joseph County Grange Fair.
Restoration work on the historic Langley Covered Bridge north of Centreville is nearing completion.

Work continues at the Langley Covered Bridge to complete the restoration project that began last year and was suspended during the winter months.
The wrap-up tasks include roof repairs to address damage done by high winds in December, improvements to the causeway leading to the north end of the bridge, and installation of guardrail.
