A Three Rivers tradition that dates back nearly two years will be maintained in 2010 as Mayor Allen Balog continues his monthly “brown bag lunches.”

The informal sessions with interested citizens – held in the Commission Room at City Hall – get underway at 12 noon on the first Tuesday of the month.

Since beginning the practice in May of 2008, Balog said he has missed only one and that was because of illness.

According to Balog, the luncheon gatherings give citizens who may not feel comfortable coming to a city commission meeting an opportunity to talk with him and share their concerns.  He said the sessions have also helped him “take a pulse” on issues people are thinking about and what their concerns are.  (Allen_Balog_audio clip – :30)

The next “brown bag lunch” with the mayor is set for this coming Tuesday (January 5th) at noon.
