“Paid in full” is a phrase that can now be used in referring to the original hospital building at Three Rivers Health.
In reviewing financial reports for the month of October during the Three Rivers Health Authority Board meeting Thursday morning (November 19th), Steve Andrews, Vice-President of Finance, said, “There is no remaining debt on this building as of November 1st.”
The original building opened in July of 1987 as the hospital moved from its longtime home on Spring Street near Scidmore Park.
Regarding the financial reports for October, they show a net loss of $53,547 for the month, an amount that was a bit more than $109,000 below budget. Andrews said, “Typically, October is one of our busier months on the inpatient side, but it was not this October.”
For the year to date, net income was $91,133 which was $274,695 below budget. While the positive bottom line is very modest, it’s a big improvement over the year-to-date loss of more than $1.7 million at this time in 2008.
