Voters in the Three Rivers Health Authority – the City of Three Rivers and the townships of Constantine, Fabius, Lockport and Park – will go to the polls on Tuesday, May 5th, to decide the fate of a request from the Three Rivers Health Authority Board for a two-mill, ten-year tax levy.

If approved, the millage will generate approximately $1.4 million in the first year to support Three Rivers Health in its efforts to provide healthcare services to the community.  Specifically, the money will be used “for the purpose of capital improvements.”

With the goal of providing information to voters in advance of the election, the River Country Journal has recorded “pro and con” interviews regarding Three Rivers Health and the millage proposal.  Bruce Snook of the River Country Journal interviewed Matt Chambers, President and CEO of Three Rivers Health, and Blaine Edgell, the leader of Citizens for the Health of Three Rivers, a group opposed to the millage.  These interviews are freely available via the River Country Journal website.  They can be accessed by using the “Podcasts” buttons on the home page, or by clicking on the links that appear below.
