The Sturgis City Commission has taken further action to nudge the process for the proposed casino development at Fawn River Crossing along.

As noted in The Sturgis eWire, commissioners on Wednesday (March 25th) passed a resolution asking state Representative Matt Lori and state Senator Cameron Brown to introduce legislation that “will support the completion of [the proposed] development.”  The resolution further requests that both legislators come to the commission meeting on April 8th to “present their intended actions to facilitate the necessary legislation to move this development forward.”

The report points out that the resolution is the second one passed by the commission relative to the proposed casino project.  The initial resolution, adopted on February 11th, endorsed the proposed development in concept and requested that Brown and Lori take action to support, authorize and implement the proposal.
