THREE RIVERS – Nearly 100 people attended a Skate-A-Thon at the Skate Galaxy in Three Rivers December 13th and they donated 14 bags of groceries, gifts and household items for a local family in need.

The event was sponsored by the Medical Assistant Club at Glen Oaks Community College and admission to the skate party was donation of food and household items. The donations will make Christmas much bright for the Adopt-A-Family, said Brenda Luczek, Chairperson of the Medical Assistant Program at GOCC.

The Medical Assistant Club is composed of current and past students of the Medical Assisting Program at Glen Oaks. Besides preparing student members for the medical assisting profession, the MA Club takes part in fund-raising activities that support GOCC students and the community.
