The St. Joseph County Alcohol Project, a subcommittee of the Human Services Commission Meth/Substance Abuse Workgroup, is once again organizing a countywide, FREE New Year’s Eve ride service.

The service will offer free rides home from 10 p.m. New Year’s Eve until 4 a.m. New Year’s Day.

The rides will be provided by the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority.

Buses will run in St. Joseph County ONLY!

To summon a ride, call (269) 816-1355 or (269) 816-0381.

Organizers note that impairment begins with the first drink, say “Don’t drink and drive,” and suggest that you “Save yourself from fines, lawyer fees, jail time and even death.”

The free rides are sponsored by Community Healing Center, St. Joseph County Transportation Authority, Hackenberg-Schreiber Agency, Troyer Insurance, and In-Between.

Jan Reed, Collaboration Coordinator with the Human Services Commission, reports that Applebee’s restaurants in both Sturgis and Three Rivers are partnering with the project to donate 20 percent of the cost of the meals eaten in their establishments on Tuesday, January 5th.  For a flyer about this promotion, click here.
