The Occupational Student Success Program (OSSP) at Glen Oaks Community College recently received a $100 donation from the Meijer Corporation store at Three Rivers.
Paula Nelson, administrative assistant at the Meijer store presented the donation to Karen Webber, a Student Support Specialist at Glen Oaks.
Webber said the funds, which are matched by the college, help students and their families with emergency gasoline vouchers when a need is demonstrated.
Webber said OSSP serves a large number of students in need during the academic year and “requests are often greater than the small amount of funding that is set aside to purchase the much needed gas vouchers.”
