Officer Adam Beck while being introduced during Monday's Constantine Village Council meeting as the newest member of the Constantine Police Department.
A new, full-time police officer is now on the job in Constantine.
Village Manager Mark Honeysett introduced the new officer, 36-year-old Adam Beck, at the outset of the Constantine Village Council meeting Monday evening (December 7th).
According to Honeysett, Beck’s father, grandfather and an uncle are all retired state troopers.
Honeysett said Beck “did very well in his interview” with him and Police Chief Jim Bedell. And, he added, “We also got very positive response from his former chief in Covert who said, if he had a full-time position, he would have hired Adam in a heartbeat, so we we’re probably lucky to have stolen him away from Covert without too much difficulty.”
Honeysett said that Beck spent time last week “getting acclimated” and began “solo” work on Sunday. On Monday, his second solo day, he made an arrest for drug paraphernalia.
