A recommendation to award two engineering projects for the Clean Water Plant to Jones & Henry Engineers is an agenda item for the Three Rivers City Commission meeting Tuesday evening (November 17th).

One project – for engineering for dewatering equipment – has a not-to-exceed cost of $18,500.  The other – to develop an odor control management plan – has a cost of $7,500.

The commission will also consider an agreement to appoint Glenn Lindsey of Cornerstone Inspection Services of Athens as the Building and Zoning Official “for a period not to exceed 90 days.”  A staff memo regarding the appointment says, “Due to an unexpected vacancy in our Inspections Division, it is necessary to appoint a temporary Building and Zoning Official.”  The vacancy reflects the fact that Gary Herndon no longer works for the city.

Commissioners are also slated to consider:

•    Setting a public hearing for December 1st to determine if a dwelling at 420 Eight Street is an unsafe structure and should be demolished
•    Extending the current municipal streets contract with Northern Construction Services Corporation (NCSC) of Niles for one year
•    Equipment upgrades for Channel 13, the local Public, Education and Government channel for Comcast customers
•    A PILOT – Payment in Lieu of Taxes – program at Riverside Townhouses
•    Using Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) grant funds to replace ten light heads in Memory Isle Park with LED fittings.

The meeting will be held in the Commission Room at City Hall and begin at 6 p.m.
