The City of Three Rivers reports that it has had a positive bacteriological sample result from a sample drawn on Tuesday (November 10th) for total coliform bacteria.

Further testing and re-sampling are being done.  Results will be available late Friday.

Starting Wednesday (November 11th), chlorine is being added to the water supply as a precautionary measure and will continue until good samples are confirmed.  According to a news release from the city, this is an extra precautionary measure taken by the city and not required by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ).
