The Constantine Village Council’s Personnel Committee has identified four “priority items” for Village Manager Mark Honeysett to address.
Trustee Bob Brewer, chairman of the committee, noted the items during the council meeting Monday evening (October 5th) while reviewing minutes from a committee meeting with Honeysett on September 30th. Other committee members are Trustees Gary Mathers and Willie Harder.
Brewer said the meeting was called to discuss the “Active Issues and Action Plan” that had been drawn up at an earlier time.
The minutes and Brewer’s report listed 20 points and indicated the Personnel Committee “feels that the following items are of a priority: energy audit, sewer infiltration, water well, and union negotiations.”
In other business Monday evening, the council:
• Scheduled a public hearing for its October 19th meeting on an application for a Signature Building Initiative Grant for the building at 130 East Water Street, the former Donnelly Jewelry building
• Learned that the Michigan Department of Transportation will be upgrading the traffic signal at North Washington and Broad streets in the near future
• And was informed that a “coordination meeting” for the Constantine Safe Routes 2 School Design Initiative will be held on Monday, October 12th, at 3:30 p.m. in the Constantine High School Conference Room. According to Brad Neumann, Land Policy Educator with MSU Extension – St. Joseph County, “The purpose of the meeting is to meet other members of the group, learn more about the process and the expected outcomes, and to schedule two of the three community involvement meetings for later this fall.”
