The City of Three Rivers is adding chlorine to the water supply as a precautionary measure following a positive bacteriological sample taken Tuesday (August 4th) at the Department of Public Services (DPS) building on South Lincoln Avenue.
According to DPS Director Jim Rozeboom, further testing was done on the sample and no e-coli were found in the sample.
Rozeboom said a “resample” is being taken Wednesday (August 5th) at DPS and at a connection upstream and downstream from there. Results will be available late Thursday.
Rozeboom said construction on West Hoffman will begin next week and will involve repairs to the water system.
The addition of chlorine will continue until construction repair on West Hoffman is completed.
