Funeral arrangements have been announced for Bob McDonough who died Tuesday (July 14th) at the age of 57.

McDonough, who was currently serving as Fabius Township Supervisor, died at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, surrounded by his family, after suffering a heart attack while bicycling on Sunday.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 24th, at the Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold Street in Three Rivers.

Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25th, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 645 Douglas Avenue in Three Rivers, with Fr. Mark Vyverman as celebrant.

Memorials may be donated to the Carnegie Center Council for the Arts at 107 N. Main Street in Three Rivers.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.

Bob graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1970.   He earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration, cum laude, from the University of Michigan, and a Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the Thomas Cooley Law School in Lansing.  He was both an attorney and a certified public accountant.

Bob began his career with the Upjohn Company in 1979 and had been with the company and its successor organizations until his retirement in 2007.   During his tenure in the pharmaceutical industry, Bob held senior positions in Corporate Finance & Taxation, Global Public Policy, and Corporate Affairs.

Bob served two terms as mayor of the City of Three Rivers.  During his many years of involvement in the community, he served as president of the Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education and chairman of the Three Rivers Area Hospital Authority Board.  He was a board member of the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation and Borgess Health, a regional hospital and health care institution in Kalamazoo.  He was also a member of the American and Michigan State Bar Association and the St. Joseph County Bar Association.
